Jaipur the city of Rajputana Tales and one of the historical place of Rajasthan (Largest state of India), It’s also known as Pink City.
 
“Yes Pink City”, All arrivals will quickly know the significance behind this name. Every historical Forts and Kalakritiyan (Artifacts) beautifully compiled. The old city feels painted in Terracotta Pink colour. The historical fact behind Unique (Adbhut) reflection of this colour is that, the powerful Maharaja (Sawai Ram singh) of Jaipur in India has strategy to impress Prince Albert’s India Tour.

Do you know, why Jaipur called Jaipur ?

Because, Jaipur is named after Maharaja Jai singh II, who was founder of this city. He also developed and maintained city for his people.
 
Hey guys, Anjali’s here, I am going to take you on the tour of Jaipur city.

So guys are you excited ?

Now, I am going to tell you about my bond with this city.
 
In 2009,
 
I came to this city, right in front of my eyes spended 8 years. I have seen city change like Time Traveling from small vehicle to bigger one, Train to Metro train, small population to larger one everything is change but ancient monuments with royalty is still alive with strong set, who maintain the glory of Jaipur and its domination.
 

Part 1

Now it’s 2018,
We are going to explore some famous and non-famous places of jaipur.
There are some famous places you’ve always been hearing about like Amer Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palace, Govind dev Temple, Jaipur Zoo, Albert Hall.

Amer Fort – Pride of Rajputana Royalty

Amer, the grace of this palace is beautifully Design. I am speechless…
So guys, when you enter in Amer fort, feel like Rajputana royalty…it also a magnetizing that amer is 3rd largest wall in the World after Kumbhalgarh and China Wall.
 
Amer Fort is a city in its own which has many small places and each wall of this palace tells a story, which will tell you about the next blog.

It’s also mesmerising to see so many kalakrityan (Artifacts), Mirrorwork ceiling and Wall Paintings. The centre of attraction in amer is Tricolour of Indian Flag lightning in evening, please do not forget to see musical light show.

Jaigarh Fort – Hill of Eagles (Cheelon Ka tila)

After Amer there is another fort known as JaiGarh Fort which is 7 km away. This fort
was stronghold built by Sawai Jai singh II.
Guys, Do you Know the Strong Reason behind this Fort……..
Basically, it was built to protect Amer fort during war and there is a secret tunnel which connects both forts together. But Tourist and local people are not allowed to go there for a safety reason.

It’s also an interesting fact about world’s largest cannon on the wheels called “Jaivana Cannon”. The length of the barrel of the cannon is 20 feet 2 inches and it weighs 50 tons. 50 tons, Really a very big cannon .

Nahargarh Fort – Overlooking the City

o, we continue our journey towards Nahargarh Fort, which arrives after Jaigarh fort. It was built and designed accordingly to protect both the forts from unwanted wars and it was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II.
 
It’s also an interesting fact about Nahargarh that earlier it was titled by sudarshangarh. As soon as you climb Nahargarh, you can see the whole city from here and its beauty attracts the eyes. Especially, at time of Sunrise and sunset, the whole city look mesmerizing and you will feel so relax.
 
You will wish for a once that, time will stop here and you will enjoy the beauty of nature again and again.. It’s also looks like Masterpiece of nature.
 
At night you will be tempted by the illusion of the city.
 
So guys, you should visit here so that you can enjoy the beauty of City.

Jal Mahal – Eye Ball Palace

From Nahargarh fort, we can easily see Jal Mahal, and you will understand the real denotation behind the name Given to Jal Mahal – Eye ball Palace” .But to see Jal Mahal, you have to come down from Nahargarh Fort.
 
It was built in 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the middle of “Man Sagar lake”. The palace, built in red sandstone, is a 5 storied building, of which four floor is under water and top floor can easily watchable.
 
The main reason behind this wonderful palace is that, after Ashwamegh Yagya Maharaja Sawai Jai singh used to go for snan (bath). Even he used this palace to spend quality time with his queen. He also used this palace for majestic festival.
 
The palace has a pictorial sight of the lake itself. Unfortunately, we cannot boat on this lake, but yes, you guys can click some pictures and enjoy the scenery.

Hawa Mahal – Palace of Land Breeze

After capturing so many beautiful moments from Jal Mahal, let’s move towards main city of Old Jaipur where we find one more Palace of Land Breeze called as
Hawa Mahal”.
The architecture of this building is so beautiful which attracts new arrivals. There are about 935 small window, from where wind crosses, and makes the palace cool. It’s 5 storied building constructed with red and pink sandstone in the shape of pyramid.

This beautiful palace is also known as Zenana” or Chamber of woman. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap singh in the city centre of Old Jaipur. The window’s of this palace designed in Lattice Work were meant to act like veils; a “Purdah” for the royal woman because of hindu custom dictated that royal woman wouldn’t be seen by the public.

City Palace – Complex of Palace

From the Hawa Mahal, we learned some old historical rituals and now we are going to the City Pulse, which Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh 2 has created.
 
It’s a Palace of complex, where you can find different buildings like Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Diwan-i-khas, Diwan-i-Aam and Maharani Palace. Now a days, government has open some part of city palace for the visitors and some are still forbidden.

Chandra mahal is a museum where you can find some historical articles like weapons, poshak (raiment) and many more things. Some forbidden areas of this palace is always open for royal families.
 
Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II had planned to build the city of Jaipur on the classical principle of Vastisma.

Govind Dev Ji Temple – Bajrakrit

Within the Palace there is a very ancient and popular temple. This image of divinity (Murti) brought from Vrindavan by Maharaja Sawai Jai singh II.
 
Old people believe that in the dreams of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh 2, Lord Shri Krishna appeared and told him to save it from getting ruined from the hand of the Aurangzeb. Mughal Emperor.
But this temple has been built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh II so that he can see Lord Krishna from his Chandra Mahal (Moon Palace) every morning. Even the Satsang Bhawan of Govind Dev Ji Temple holds a World Record and is mentioned in the Guinness Book.
 
Because, it’s the World largest and widest flat roof, which has the single span of 119 feet, even the ceiling of its roof is made of gold. Every evening here, all devotees meet Lord Shri Krishna and then prays together.

Jantar Mantar – Epic instruments of Astrology

After worshiping Lord Shri Krishna, We are moving towards Jantar Mantar. It’s the world’s largest stone sundial. This is very near to Hawa Mahal.
 
It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, and its construction was done by the help of 23 astrologers. About 19 instruments have been made in this process. In the old time, the use of these instruments was made to see time and to do astrology prediction (Knowledge of the Home Constellations).

Do you know … why it is named Jantar Mantar?

If we know the real name of this name (Jantar Mantar), it means “instrument consult”. The name is derived from jantar (yantra, Sanskrit: यन्त्र, “instrument”), and mantar (from mantrana, Sanskrit: मन्त्रण, “consult”). The instruments allow the observation of astronomical positions with the naked eye.
 
It was good to know how knowledgeable people were at the ancient time and how much they respected their culture. Whenever you come here, Jantar Mantar must also go, definitely some will get to learn.

Albert Hall – Central Museum

A lot of astronomies go and understand, we now extend to the side of our next Historical Place which is the Central Museum of Jaipur.

It’s one of the oldest Museum in Jaipur, which is situated in Ram Niwas Garden outside the city wall. In this museum, you can see some art of Jaipur, and it also include some opulent collection of artifacts including Paintings, carpets, ivory, stone, metal sculptures, and work in crystal.
 
This Museum was designed by Colonel Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob. The Name of this Museum was named after King Edward VII (Albert Edward), because the foundation stone of the hall was laid in 1876 by Edward VII.
 
The architectural style of this Museum is Indo-Saracenic. This museum is also known as Central Government Central Museum. In the beginning, Maharaja Ram singh wanted this hall to be a town hall, but Maharaja Madho Singh II his heir decided, it should be a museum.
 
Whenever you came to Jaipur, you should also visit this Museum. In this museum you will find different kind of article’s which represent different style of culture .

Jaipur ZOO – Zoological Garden

Near the museum is the zoological garden of Jaipur, which is also famous as Jaipur Zoo. This Zoo is divided into Two parts: 1) Mammals and 2) Birds and Reptiles.
 
There are about 50 creatures in this zoo, from all over the world…… whom you can see here. In this Zoo….. museum is also built which exhibit the wildlife of Rajasthan. The main objective of the zoo is to complement the national effort in conservation of Wild Life.
This zoological Garden is also presume as the most marvelous sanctuaries in Jaipur. It’s a must visit place on jaipur trip. You will also get to know more about the different species across the world.
